Once you have established your EPC rating, this determines whether you need to take action. So if the number in the EPC report is 38 or less (i.e. Band F or G), you need to improve the energy efficiency of the relevant home. 5. The last suggestion may seem a bit strange, but ask a decent company to conduct the EPC investigation. Although most reviewers will ignore this, a decent surveyor will be able to enter this detail into the government-approved software, which will, therefore, provide a more accurate (and normally higher) energy rating.
